Emergency Medical Services

The Valencia County Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Services to the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level.

The department is under the medical direction of Dr. Whitney Barrett from the UNM EMS Consortium. VCFD members work under an expansive EMS protocol.

The department currently operates Lifepack cardiac monitors and Zoll Autopulse automated CPR devices.

The EMS fleet consists of 3 Type 1 Rescues, 1 Type 2, and 2 Type 3 Rescues.

The EMS (Emergency Medical Services) section of the department is led by Assistant Chief John Grassham.
