Wildland

The Valencia County Fire Department’s Wildland Team is led by Captain Rob Barr, and is housed out of Station 22. The team has access to 2 Type 3 Engines, a variety of Type 1 Engines, Brush Trucks, UTV’s and other specialized equipment.

The Team deploys in the County for any Wildland or Wildland/Urban Interface fire, as well as additional staffing on designated “red flag” days. The Team is also deployable in state and out of state through RMP and IMAS requests.

Captain Barr also coordinates the department’s YCC program which encourages younger firefighters to participate in Wildland Fire Activities.
