VALENCIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency in Valencia County, New Mexico, responsible for serving the unincorporated areas within the county. Our deputies are committed to ensuring public safety through proactive patrols, responding to requests from citizens and other parties in Valencia County, criminal investigations, emergency response and community engagement. Other key responsibilities include civil process, the execution of court orders, and the extradition and transportation of prisoners for crimes committed within Valencia County.

The Sheriff’s office provides court security officers to our local magistrates and district courthouses. We work closely with local, state and federal partners to address crime, promote community outreach, while supporting public education on safety issues. Guided by our values of integrity, professionalism and respect, the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office strives to build strong community relationships while upholding the law and safeguarding the rights of all citizens.

Background Checks The Sheriff’s Office does not do background checks. We can provide a local records check from Sheriff’s office information only. Each page of the reports will be a dollar a page. We do not provide other local agency records checks. The State of New Mexico, in Santa Fe, does state background checks and the last recorded fee(s) were $20.00 per report. The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office works in cooperation with crime stoppers. Crime tips can be reported to crime stoppers at 505-843-STOP (7867) or Crime Stoppers New Mexico website.
