About the District 5 Commissioner

Dante Berry
County Commission Chairman, District 5

I am a lifelong resident of Valencia County, New Mexico. I graduated with honors from Belen High School, earning Academic Letter recognition while lettering in four sports and receiving multiple All-State honors as a multi-sport athlete.

After high school, I attended the New Mexico Military Institute, where I competed in junior college football and earned Dean’s List recognition for academic excellence. I later completed my Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of New Mexico.

For more than a decade, I have built my career in finance as a financial advisor, helping individuals and families develop disciplined, long-term investment and retirement strategies. In 2024, I was honored to be elected to serve on the Valencia County Commission, where I work to promote responsible governance and strengthen my community.

Above all, I am a devoted husband and proud father of six children—three boys and three girls—whose well-being remains at the center of my personal and professional life. Guided by my devout traditional Catholic faith, I strive to lead with integrity, service, and principle in all that I do.
